Brazos Christian defeats Hearne [Video]

Brazos Christian needed just the first quarter to handle its business as they defeated Hearne, 15-8, on Friday at Brazos Christian Field.

Truett Goodyk picked off the Eagles and returned it 40 yards for a score. Quarterback Cooper Murr ended up scoring on the following drive on a two-yard keeper and the Eagles (3-0) picked up a safety before the end of the first quarter.

Scoring stalled until the fourth when Hearne (0-3) completed a 44-yard touchdown pass. They collected a safety of their own as well.

Murr threw for 64 yards, while rushing for 40 more. On eight touches, Jackson Caffey finished with 66 total yards.

Brazos Christian will host Bay Area Christian at 7 p.m. next Friday. Hearne will travel to play Marlin at 7:30 p.m. next Friday.
