This is the devastating moment an ambitious couple on Grand Designs faced a £5,000 setback in building their dream family home.
In tonight’s episode of Channel 4‘s home design series, Adam and Tassy set about the seemingly impossible task of converting an old water tower in Northamptonshire into a home for themselves and their three children.
From the start, they made it clear that they were on a tremendously tight budget of £400,000, made even more strict when the coronavirus pandemic forced them to remortgage their current house.
But despite their painstaking methods to save money – which included Adam taking on the building work himself alongside his day job as a plumber – the couple were dealt a devastating blow outside of their control.
In shocking CCTV footage shown in the show, thieves forced their way into the building site, stealing the couple’s essential tools.
