SOUTH POINT, Ohio (WSAZ) – Jessica Dean has spent many of Sundays in the company of Bill Christian at Solida Baptist Church, a place he plays piano during morning worship.

Bill Christian was stabbed, allegedly by a parent of a student while working as the South Point Principal Thursday afternoon, according to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.

“Bill means a lot to me. He has inspired me a lot and brought me closer to the Lord– and he’s done a lot of great work with the church,” Dean said.

Dean is still trying to wrap her mind around the fact that something like this could happen.

“Obviously, I didn’t know what to do. I just started crying immediately. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, why Bill Christian?’ It’s traumatic. I hate that he got hurt,” Dean said.
