WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – The Wichita Christian Stars won their first state title in school history Thursday in Waco.
The Stars faced Heritage Christian in the TAPPS Division III State Championship.
Both teams came into the game undefeated.
“We knew what we had to do we knew it was possible and we could win state and we won it we knew what we had to do just get business done,” Wichita Christian Senior John Godo said.
The Eagles came into this game after going to 3 of the last 11 state championship games.
“Everybody played their best I mean they had a great team we just ended up on top, everybody freshman got touchdowns everybody got tackles everybody tried their best and now we got a trophy,” Wichita Christian Senior Sam Machtolff said.
Wichita Christian was able to defeats Heritage Christian 52 to 12.
