OZARK, Mo. (KY3) – Christian County deputies arrested a jailer accused of bringing methamphetamine into the jail.
22-year-old Heaven L. Sutton faces a charge of delivery of a controlled substance. The sheriff fired her on Monday.
Investigators say a confidential witness disclosed to the jail administrator that Sutton had delivered methamphetamine to inmates in the B-Pod. Investigators say the witness said Sutton communicated with an associate of the inmate in Springfield who paid her money to bring the drugs into the jail.
Investigators say surveillance video captured Sutton bringing the drugs to the inmates through a pair of pants. When investigators questioned her, they said she said she did not know what was inside the bag but knew it was “something bad…drugs.” Investigators say she told them someone threatened her to bring the drugs. Sheriff Cole says there is no evidence of that.
