Event by Homeless Lives Matter raises awareness for homelessness [Video]

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Local faith-based nonprofit Homeless Lives Matter hosted an event today to raise awareness for its cause.

The get-together featured food, refreshments, hygiene bags and even a talent show.

Founder and CEO Lisa Roffman said it takes more than just food to make a difference in the community.

“Well, I seven or eight years ago, I was out on the streets and I was serving the homeless. And then I realized it wasn’t about the baloney sandwich and water. It was about somebody sitting down and giving them hope,” Roffman said.
