LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Christian Record has been making reading accessible to all for 125 years.
“I saw the difference, the impact it made on people’s lives and I saw the many talents that they have themselves that are often under appreciated by the community at large,” Diane Thurber, President of Christian Record, said.
Thurber became President of Christian Record in 2015. The non-profit offers bibles for the blind and visually impaired, along with cookbooks, children books, audio books, and more, all free of charge.
“They’re visual books but they also have a brail clear practice sheet in between them,” Dennis Tejada, Braille Print Manager said.
In 2016, there were 39,700 blind people in Nebraska.
“It makes me happy to see stories from our members how happy they are to receive these materials,” Tejada said.
