LEDGEVIEW, Wis. (WBAY) – The shooting in Madison on Monday has people across the state looking to help the victims. This includes a toy drive underway right now in the Green Bay area, ahead of the Christmas holiday.

Packages continue to show up on the doorstep of Nicole Polarek’s house in Ledgeview, as part of her family’s effort to conduct a toy drive, benefiting everyone hurt in Monday’s shooting at the Abundant Life Christian School in Madison.

”It was supposed to be just another Monday for these kids. A week before Christmas. It was pajama day. And I know from our experience that their lives will be changed forever,” said Nicole Polarek from Ledgeview.

Within the next 24 hours, that toy drive was launched, and already more than 600 items had been purchased from a wishlist on Target. They’ve even received a $10,000 toy donation from the Educational Toy Companies, Learning Resources, Educational Insight, and Hand2Mind.
