MPS Board Vice President Gokalgandhi says district to adjust deadlines in corrective action plan [Video]

Milwaukee Public Schools Board Vice President Jilly Gokalgandhi says she is “not concerned” with missed deadlines in the district’s corrective action plan, adding she has “a lot of faith” in interim MPS Superintendent Eduardo Galvan to address the district’s issues.

One of the deadlines was to have the district’s finance office fully staffed by July 15.

“We are meeting with DPI to relook at the corrective action plan, and we’re working right now to source applicants,” said Gokalgandhi, who spoke at a Milwaukee Press Club-WisPolitics luncheon in Milwaukee Wednesday.

She expressed confidence in Galvan and the potential changes he may make to the plan, “whether that looks like changing the dates, updating the public on what those metrics look like and what possible dates could be moved.”
