MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – A Myrtle Beach pastor who has gained national attention is out of jail after being booked on an assault charge.
Myrtle Beach police arrested 45-year-old John-Paul Miller on Wednesday, charging him with third-degree assault and battery, jail records show.
A judge set his bond at $776 after a Thursday morning hearing, and Milller was released shortly after.

The charge stems from an incident with protestors.
A group of women were protesting against Solid Rock Church on Horry-Georgetown Technical College‘s campus in The Market Common. The church, where Miller was a pastor, is changing locations and movers were there working according to Miller’s attorney, Russell Long.
