Ninth lawsuit filed against Hereford House in Leawood [Video]

The Hereford House faces its ninth lawsuit since the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office charged a man with contaminating food at the Leawood location. The lawsuit filed on June 21 represents 12 plaintiffs, some of whom live in Ohio, Texas, Arkansas, and Missouri. The lawsuit states they were there celebrating the 80th birthday of one of the plaintiffs listed in the lawsuit. The plaintiffs allege that the defendant’s employee, Jace Christian Hanson, intentionally contaminated food served to customers, causing them to suffer from food poisoning. The plaintiffs also claim to have experienced emotional distress as a result of the contamination and are seeking damages. Hanson, 21, of Kansas City, is accused of intentionally tampering with food at the 5001 Town Center Drive restaurant in Leawood.Earlier this month, the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office added over 30 new charges, including sexual exploitation of a child.
