Salt & Light chaplains provide mental support to Austin Police Officers | News [Video]

AUSTIN, Minn. – The Austin Police Department (APD) has added three chaplains from Salt & Light Partners. Kwasi Kyeremeh is one of the lead chaplains for the Rochester Police Department. 

He says chaplains mainly provide emotional and spiritual to officers and their families. They also coordinate events with businesses to provide events for officers. Kyeremeh says with police officers having a lot of stress to go through it’s an honor to help them. 

“It’s extremely satisfying,” said Kwasi Kyeremeh. “Sometimes you ask yourself what can I do? Well in this case we have an opportunity to be able to serve the officers who day in and day out lay their lives on the line to serve this community.”
