NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. — The Dakota Valley High School girls’ basketball team boasts enough talent to overcome plenty and still come away with wins.
The Panthers proved that with a 12-0 start to the season.
But against Sioux Falls Christian? Not so much.
An early slump put the Class A No. 3-ranked Panthers behind the top-ranked Chargers, and Sioux Falls Christian went on to close out a 60-48 wire-to-wire win at Dakota Valley High School on Thursday in Dak XII Conference play.
“Dakota Valley is a really good team, obviously,” said SF Christian head coach Dan DeJong. “They came ranked third and undefeated, that say a lot. They’re one of the most complete teams we’ve played this season.
“They don’t have any real weaknesses with really good guard play, good wings and post players and tons of athleticism.”
