The project has been ongoing for the last few years. “At this point, we have bought and forgiven a little over $18 million in medical debt here in North Carolina over the last three years, most of it right in this area,” said the Rev. John Jackman.The church partners with an organization called “Undue Medical Debt” to purchase and forgive the debt.
