Two people charged with child abuse involving four-month-old in Greene County [Video]

GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Greene County Sheriff’s Department said two people have been charged with child abuse involving a four-month-old baby.

On March 28, the sheriff’s department said deputies responded to Greeneville Community Hospital for a report of possible child abuse involving a four-month-old baby, and the Criminal Investigation Division was called to investigate the incident.

On Tuesday, a Greene County Grand Jury handed down indictments for 18-year-old Faith Stewart and 21-year-old Danny Furr.

The GCSD said Stewart was indicted on aggravated child endangerment and failure to report child abuse, and Furr was indicted on aggravated child abuse, child abuse, failure to report child abuse and criminal impersonation.

Both Stewart and Furr have been arrested and taken to the Greene County Detention Center with a bond of $150,000, police said. They are scheduled to appear in court on July 31.
